The team at STC are all homegrown coaches and local. Each team member has a wide range of knowledge and skills!
Adam
LTA Level 3 Coach

Director of Tennis
Adam is the director and founder of Skipton Tennis Centre. Adam has 20 years of coaching experience working with both local communities and businesses in the Craven area. His passion for tennis started when he was just aged 8 watching Andre Agassi playing at Wimbledon. He later joined a local club and went on to train and compete at county level before starting his coaching programme at aged 17.
More recently he helped steer Skipton Tennis Centre to winning LTA National Club of the year 2017 -18. He is extremely passionate about opening tennis up and making it accessible and relevant to all who play. Adam’s belief is being enthusiastic, creative and innovative.
Away from tennis he enjoys walking, running, travel and listening to house music and more recently he has taken to learning how to snowboard.”

Jonny

Philosophy:
To create a fun environment that gives everyone the opportunity to feel great, and to improve towards their potential athletically, mentally, tactically, technically, and competitively, using a variety of creative purposeful practices (mainly games). Ultimately promoting long term healthy, active lifestyles through Tennis and Sport.
He is passionate about helping any athlete/player develop their game and finds it rewarding to see them competing for the teams or enjoying tennis on a social level.

Ueli
LTA Level 3 Coach

Coach
Ueli has developed a passion for tennis from the age of seven through the attendance of coaching programmes run by Skipton Tennis Centre. Ueli is a home-grown talent who has since achieved LTA coaching level 3 and has 4 years coaching experience under his belt. As an integral member of the Skipton Tennis Centre community, Ueli has regularly been a team player and captain of various STC teams.
When coaching, he gets tremendous satisfaction from sharing his passion for tennis and helping people achieve their personal goals, whether fitness, social or skill orientated.
Ueli balances his coaching year with ski instructing in Switzerland through the winter months. In his free time, he enjoys biking, running, paragliding and generally being out in the Yorkshire Dales.

Ji
LTA Level 3 Coach
Qualified PE Teacher
Coach
Ji was a Head of PE for several years but joined the coaching team at the start of STC’s journey in 2007. He coaches in several Primary schools and clubs, and really enjoys seeing both children and adults progress in their play and enjoyment of the sport.
He plays for a mixed and men’s squad during the tennis season and enjoys the challenge of trying to outwit his opponents.
Away from the court Ji is also a coach for both cricket and football. In his spare time, he likes walking, travelling and food.

Adam

Coach
Adam’s passion is tennis. He is both a men’s and mixed first team player at Skipton Tennis Centre. Currently he is a qualified LTA Level 2 tennis coach and is working towards level 3 by April 2020.
Adam discovered his passion for all sports at the age of 9 when he was scouted for Bradford City. He played at the Bradford City academy for 6 years competing against teams such as Manchester United.
Adam is currently studying Double Sport and Business A-Levels at South Craven School and hoping to go off to University to study Sports Coaching further.

Ben
LTA Level 2 Instructor

Ben has been a member here at STC since he was 4 years old and has been playing tennis ever since he could hold a racket. The move into coaching was a no brainer for him as he just loves being on court and helping others achieve their goal what ever that may be.
With experience in matchplay, cardio tennis and multi-sport programs you can be sure that while working with Ben you get a feel for all the different areas of tennis and improve all aspects of your game but most importantly have fun doing so.
With his energy, enthusiasm and experience in tennis you’ll come off court feeling sharp and raring to to play agin.
When he’s not coaching Ben competes in STC’s Mens first team as well as playing in the mixed leagues. A homegrown Coach and an all around sporty guy, we’re sure you’d enjoy your time on court with Ben.

Tilly
LTA Level 2 Instructor
Instructor
Tilly first started coaching two years ago during holiday camps and has since achieved her LTA Level 1 tennis coaching qualification. She has recently started coaching weekly term-time mini tennis lessons, which she has enjoyed immensely.
Tilly has attended lessons here at Skipton Tennis Centre since she was five years old. She took part in summer camps and junior tournaments when she was younger, and continues to participate in group coaching and leagues within the club today.
Tilly is currently studying A-levels at Skipton Girls High School, where she is Deputy Head Girl and she is hoping to study History at university. Apart from tennis, Tilly enjoys dancing and watching football.

Fred
BSc (Hons) Degree Sports Coaching
FA & LTA Level 1 Coach
Multisport Coach
Fred has 10 years of coaching experience with a passion for all kinds of sports but especially football. He played for Burnley, Bradford City and as a trialist at Blackburn Rovers.
He furthered his education and obtained a 2.1 BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports Coaching achieved at Leeds Metropolitan University which led him to working in America with Challenger Sports coaching football at various academies, camps and schools.
Amongst that Fred holds a FA Level 1 Coaching Badge and an LTA Level 1 Coaching certificate.
His hobbies are spending time with his family and friends, travelling abroad and listening to house and techno music, not forgetting following his beloved football team Manchester.

Seb
LTA Level 2 Instructor
Instructor
Seb learned to play tennis here at STC, and as a teenager found his love for sports coaching with the junior and disability programs at Craven badminton club. He soon joined the STC coaching team as an assistant and is now finishing his LTA Instructor qualification.
Bringing energy and enthusiasm both on and off the court, Seb is passionate about showing people the benefits of tennis on overall health and wellbeing – and how much fun it can be! He is LTA certified to deliver Cardio Tennis, LTA Youth, Tennis Xpress (fastrack adult beginners) and LTA Youth Schools. He is also the founder and organiser of the 2022 East Africa Outreach program, and plans to run another international project next year.
When not coaching, Seb competes in men’s tennis teams and the local badminton leagues. He loves all things physics, maths and computing – our in-house IT whizz! He aspires to earn a PhD in physics alongside his coaching career.

Ella

Club Manager
Ella has over 10 years’ experience within high pressured business environments from large retail head offices to education recruitment. During her time working within retail and recruitment, she understands how important it is to offer a high level of customer service.
Ella looks after the day to day running of the club. She gets involved in admin duties from social media communications, bookings, marketing, writing the monthly newsletter, organising members social events… to ordering the toilet roll!
Her main passion is working out and keeping fit and healthy. Most recently she qualified as a Personal Trainer which has been her long term goal.

Mark & Cheryl
Years of Tennis Playing Experience!
Club Pro Shop
Mark and Cheryl have played and supported local tennis for the last 30 years and still enjoy playing league tennis.
They have developed the shop at Skipton Tennis Centre over the last 5 years and offer a wide selection of tennis equipment and a re-stringing service for players of all levels of play.
As well as supplying tennis balls to most of the local tennis clubs, they are always on hand to offer advice to both members and non-members.

Ruby
Level 3 in chasing balls
STC Mascot
Ruby is the newest member of the STC team and it’s safe to say she is the favourite by all the players!
She woofs chasing after all the balls and greeting everyone inside the clubhouse.
In Ruby’s spare time she enjoys longs walks, swims in the river and snoozing!
